KLC to Host Regional Code Enforcement Seminars in 2026

The Kentucky League of Cities will conduct three regional code enforcement seminars across Kentucky in 2026, offering legal and practical training for local officials and staff responsible for code enforcement.

These one-day seminars are designed to provide a solid foundation and real-world guidance on common code enforcement challenges, including managing dilapidated, vacant, and abandoned properties; conducting investigations and hearings; navigating the lien process; and understanding proper enforcement, condemnation, and demolition procedures.

Each seminar will be held from 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. local time, with lunch provided.

Agenda

  • 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. – Code Enforcement 101 (1.5 hours)
  • 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Investigations & Hearings (1.5 hours)
  • 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Lunch
  • 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Lien Process (1 hour)
  • 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Vacant Properties (1 hour)
  • 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Demolition (1 hour)

This training will count for 6 hours of City Officials Training Center credit and/or Training Incentive Program (TIP) credit.
