City-Focused Nonprofits Join KLCIS

KLC Insurance Services (KLCIS) serves cities with policies specifically tailored to meet city needs. While that often means insuring municipalities, utilities, housing authorities, transit systems, planning & zoning commissions, and other city-related services and organizations, it can also include nonprofits connected to a city. The goal of KLCIS is to assist cities in any way possible.

This fiscal year KLCIS welcomed three Richmond organizations that help women in the community. Liberty Place Recovery Center for Women, Eastern Scholar House, and Kit Carson Commons are affiliated with Kentucky River Foothills Community Action and tied to the City of Richmond. The agencies aim to improve the city through outreach and intervention.

Liberty Place Recovery Center for Women is a long-term program for women recovering from substance use disorder, Eastern Scholar House increases student self-sufficiency and combats poverty, and Kit Carson Commons promotes independence and economic stability. KLC is proud to welcome these agencies to the KLCIS family.

“KLC is committed to helping our member cities and their elected officials in any way possible,” said KLC Executive Director/CEO J.D. Chaney. “Providing valuable insurance coverage to these types of city-focused nonprofits is just another way KLCIS ensures our mission remains focused on the local communities that we serve.”

KLCIS is a member-owned insurance pool that has covered more than 500 Kentucky municipal members since 1987. Services include everything from workers’ compensation and employee health benefits to property and casualty insurance and risk and safety controls.
