Public Protection Cabinet Extends Alcohol Licensing Deadline

The Public Protection Cabinet has issued an order extending state-issued alcohol license effective dates through the end of the year, effective as of October 15, 2020 at 5:00 p.m., citing the continued impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on licensed establishments and causing diminished licensee revenues.

Noting the economic hardship that a license renewal would cause and in an effort to diminish this hardship on licensees, the Department ordered annual state-issued alcoholic beverage licenses expiring on or before December 31, 2020, shall remain in effect and authorize alcoholic beverage sales through the end of the year. After December 31, 2020, licensees must submit license renewal applications to continue sales.
