CERS Healthcare Boost & What it Means for Employees
Newly enacted legislation will soon deliver a retirement healthcare boost to city employees.
Senate Bill 10, passed in the 2025 legislative session, will provide a significant health retirement benefit by increasing the subsidy for under-65 County Employees Retirement System (CERS) retirees who have spent their careers in public service.
City workers should be aware of the changes to the CERS plan that will take effect in January. KLC has created this handout to proactively answer any questions they may have.
