Pool Safety Grants - Due April 30

United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) Grants help government agencies implement enforcement and education programs to prevent the drowning and drain entrapments of children in pools and spas. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to finalize. Funding is intended to hire and train personnel for implementation and enforcement, as well as to educate pool construction and installation companies and pool service companies about applicable state or local pool standards.

This announcement solicits applications for the Pool Safely Grant Program, as authorized by PUB. L. No. 110-140. Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safely Act (VGB Act), section 1405. The CPSC anticipates awarding up to, but no more than $2 million in FY2021 through competitive project grant awards to eligible state and local governments that meet the requirements under the VGB Act, for a 2-year project period. This announcement provides potential applicants with details of the requirements to apply for a grant under this program, and it also explains how CPSC will process and evaluate applications.

The purpose of the PSGP is to provide state and local governments with assistance to help implement enforcement and education programs, with the goal of preventing drowning and drain entrapments of children in pools and spas.
