Three Topics. One Powerful Summit.

KLC Summer Summit brings city officials together for three days of focused learning and meaningful connection — each day dedicated to a single, high-impact topic affecting Kentucky cities.

Customize your experience and attend one, two, or all three days. Each stands on its own with a deep dive into the topic.

Day 1 – Economic Development
Tuesday, June 2

The Summit begins with a full day focused on economic development and insights from Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development Secretary Jeff Noel. Explore how cities can strengthen local economies and position themselves for sustainable growth.

Topics:

  • Small Cities Economic Development Toolkit rollout
  • Leveraging rural airports
  • Small business development
  • How to use economic impact studies

Ideal for mayors, city managers, planners, and officials involved in economic and community development.

Day 2 – City Officials Academy II (COA II)
Wednesday, June 3

Day two is dedicated to advanced training for experienced city officials.

Topics:

  • Personnel management
  • Zoning, planning, and regulatory authority related to land development
  • City regulatory authority
  • Government accounting & budgeting
  • Legislative issues that may impact city operations and governance

This day is ideal for experienced elected officials seeking deeper knowledge and practical guidance.

Day 3 – Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC)
Thursday, June 4

The final day centers on alcoholic beverage control, bringing together city officials, state leaders, enforcement professionals, and industry representatives.

Topics:

  • State ABC leadership and enforcement
  • Quota retail package & licensing legislation
  • Industry voices and perspectives

This day is designed for city officials who work directly with ABC issues, licensing, and enforcement.

Because cities drive Kentucky, and learning drives cities.
