City EDvantage Session: How Will Medical Cannabis Impact Local Economies?

  • Jason Ams, partner and member of litigation practice, Lexington
  • Arin Aragona, partner in cannabis practice group, Louisville

    This session will explore the potential impact of medical cannabis on local economies and governmental structures, including financial and regulatory impacts on local economies; crime statistics related to the introduction of cannabis; and the approach that other jurisdictions have taken in anticipation of expanding medical cannabis industries. This session will cover key takeaways and lessons learned from other states.

    Who should Attend: 

    • Legislative and agency members considering introducing medical cannabis cultivation, processing, and distribution facilities in their jurisdictions;
    • Any party that may have a role in regulating and/or overseeing such facilities; and
    • Any party with potential interests in such facilities.

    Credit: 1 hour of City Officials Training Center credit and/or Training Incentive Program (House Bill 119) credit.
