Back injuries account for one in five workplace injuries, and 75% of workplace-related back injuries occur during a lifting task (reported by OSHA). The consequences of improper lifting can be expensive workers’ compensation claims, days away from work, and lost productivity for the employer and can result in serious injury, chronic pain, and/or full disability for the employee. This webinar will discuss the risks of improper lifting, the principles and practices of ergonomics, the stages of safe lifting, carrying, and setting down of heavy objects, and the importance of assessment and preparation prior to lifting.
