Equity & Inclusion Series: How to Ensure Accessible Events

Aug. 15, 2023

10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. EDT

Inclusive events begin before a person registers to attend or enters the venue. Everyone who arrives at an event should feel welcome and be able to enjoy the event to the fullest, “Whether it’s fun, food, networking, or learning.” Ensuring guests with disabilities can participate fully is an important part of an event planner’s job and is required by law for public events. This webinar will focus on what an inclusive event looks like and why keeping all guests in mind during the event prep makes you better prepared to support requests as they come in rather than scrambling at the last minute.

Speaker: Kristy Stambaugh, Director of Aging and Disability Services, Department of Social Services, Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government

Credit: Participants receive one hour of KLC City Officials Training Center credit and/or House Bill 119 credit.
