Join the KY Infrastructure Authority Board

GET ON BOARD!

The Kentucky League of Cities has the statutory responsibility to recommend members for appointment to several state boards and commissions. To fulfill this obligation, KLC submits names to the Governor’s office for consideration in filling expiring board positions. Currently, KLC is seeking individuals who are interested in serving on the following board:

INFRASTRUCTURE AUTHORITY, KENTUCKY- KRS: 224A.030

  • Membership Requirement - The affairs of the Authority shall be managed and carried out by a board consisting of eleven (11) members: Ex-officio members: Secretaries of Economic Development, Finance and Administration, and Environmental and Public Protection Cabinets; Executive Director of the Public Service Commission; & Commissioner of Department of Local Government. The Secretaries, Executive Director, and Commissioner may designate alternates. The Governor shall additionally appoint six (6) at-large members: 1 member shall be selected from a list of 3 nominees submitted by the KY Assoc. of Counties; 1 member selected from a list of 3 nominees submitted by the KY League of Cities; 1 member selected from a list of 3 nominees submitted by the KY Rural Water Assoc.; 1 member representing for-profit private water companies; 1 member selected from a list of 3 nominees submitted by the KY section of the American Water Works Assoc.; and 1 member selected from a list of 3 nominees submitted by the KY Municipal Utilities Assoc. Authority selects Chair & Vice-Chair.
  • Term - 4 years
  • Compensation - Expenses
  • Description – The Authority is created solely to perform essential governmental functions and to serve the public purpose of engaging in a program of assistance to governmental agencies in the state with respect to the construction and acquisition of infrastructure projects. In accomplishing such purposes, the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority shall be and constitute a de jure municipal corporation and political subdivision of the state.
  • Meetings – Meets on the first Thursday of every month by resolution at the Capitol Annex in Frankfort.
