Support to Create More Pet-Friendly Communities – Due Aug. 16

Mars Petcare’s Better Cities for Pets program is now accepting applications for 2024 grants. Five grants of $20,000 are available to cities or their designated NGO/non-profit partner, supporting programs that help keep people and pets together and make cities more pet friendly. The grants, administered by our partner Civic Design Center, are open until Friday, Aug. 16, 2024.

Grants to municipalities for projects and programs to improve the quality of life for pets. The purpose of the program is to support programs to keep pets and people together. Proposals are accepted in one or all of the following categories:

  • Parks — The program's proposed budget is at minimum 60% designated toward programmatic public space-based programs
  • Shelters  — The program's proposed budget is at minimum 60% designated toward support for public and/or private shelter-based programs.
  • Homes — The program's proposed budget includes at least 60% support for pet ownership-focused community-based programs.
  • Businesses — The program's proposed budget is at least 60% designated toward public and/or private business-focused programs.
