Rural and Small Department Violent Crime Reduction – Due May 15

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice offers Assistance (BJA) grants to small, tribal, and rural law enforcement agencies for activities to reduce crime. Applicants are advised that required registrations must be completed prior to applying. Funding is intended to assist local police departments and prosecutors' offices to increase their capacity to combat violent crime.

The goal of this program is to increase the capacity of police departments or prosecutors’ offices to fully implement programming and activities that reflect critical elements found in the Violent Crime Reduction Operations Guide or the Prosecutors' Guide to Reducing Violence and Building Safer Communities to combat violent crime. A small agency, as defined under this initiative, is any law enforcement agency with 250 or fewer sworn officers.
