DLG Updates COLA for Mayor/Legislative Body
The Department for Local Government (DLG) recently issued the cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) to increase the maximum mayor and legislative body member pay for 2024. The maximum yearly pay for mayors of home rule cities and all legislative body members is $92,659.66. The COLA used to calculate that increase was 3.4%.
Although many cities incorporate the COLA from DLG in their budgets, the state-approved COLA is not mandatory for cities.
