The Community Wildfire Defense Grant provides funding assistance for wildfire preparedness and risk reduction projects. The program was established from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL).
Eligible projects include:
• Developing a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP)
• Updating an existing CWPP more than 10 years old
• Projects described in an existing CWPP
The Kentucky Division of Forestry is available to facilitate communities through CWPP assistance, informational workshops, and application processing. Priority will be given to areas with high wildfire risk potential, low-income communities, or communities recently impacted by a natural disaster.
