The Kentucky League of Cities has the statutory responsibility to recommend members for appointment to several state boards and commissions. To fulfill this obligation, KLC submits names to the governor’s office for consideration in filling expiring board positions. KLC is seeking individuals who are interested in serving on the following boards:
Composition: The governor appoints 12 members as follows: Two members each from a list of three nominees submitted by the following organizations: Kentucky Animal Control Association, Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association, Kentucky Farm Bureau, Kentucky Association of Counties, the Kentucky Houndsmen Association, and the Kentucky League of Cities. The board selects the chair for a term of two years.
Description: This board was created to evaluate applications for and review disbursements from the animal control and care fund, create training programs, and other duties related to animal control and care in the counties of the commonwealth.
Term: 4 years
Compensation: $100.00 per day and expenses
Meeting Schedule: Quarterly
Composition: The board shall consist of 13 members who are residents of Kentucky and are appointed by the governor in conjunction with recognized state emergency medical services-related organizations.
Description: The Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services is charged with regulating EMS licenses and ensuring all licensed and certified EMS workers in Kentucky practice within the state’s code of conduct for emergency services.
Term: 4 years
Meeting Schedule: Bi-monthly
Composition: The Kentucky Wireless Interoperability Executive Committee shall consist of 21 members.
Description: The executive director shall establish and implement a statewide public safety interoperability plan. The committee shall serve as the advisory body for all wireless communications strategies presented by agencies of the commonwealth and local governments. The committee shall develop funding and support plans that provide for the maintenance of and technological upgrades to the public safety shared infrastructure and shall make recommendations to the executive director, the Governor's Office for Policy and Management, and the General Assembly.
