The City of West Buechel is accepting applications for full-time police officer positions to fill current vacancies and meet future hiring needs. Interested candidates must already possess a valid Peace Officer Professional Standards (POPS) certificate issued by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council (KLEC). Responsibilities 

• Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity.
• Respond promptly to calls for service and emergencies.
• Conduct thorough investigations of crimes, including gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
• Enforce traffic laws and regulations, issuing citations as necessary.
• Engage with the community through outreach programs to build positive relationships.
• Provide first aid and CPR in emergency situations until medical personnel arrive.
• Utilize surveillance techniques to monitor suspicious activities.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, arrests, and investigations.
• Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies when necessary.

Experience

• Candidates should possess a combination of education and experience that demonstrates their ability to perform the duties of a police officer.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in law enforcement or related fields such as loss prevention or criminal investigation.
• Proficiency in CPR and first aid certifications.
• Demonstrated skills in conflict management and leadership.
• A valid driver's license is required for this position.

Salary Information: $70,720 Year/ $34.00 per hour plus KLEFPF of $4562.00
