The City of Prospect is now hiring for the position of public works maintenance tech. This position is a full-time non-exempt position (40-hour work week with occasional weekend work) and reports directly to the director of public works. To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be eligible to work in the United States or hold appropriate work authorization.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Be in good physical condition and able to lift 45 lbs.
• Hold a valid driver’s license.
• Be willing to undergo a background check as part of the hiring process.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Facility maintenance
• Park maintenance (lawn care, trash remediation, tree trimming, event setup & tear down)
• Roadway maintenance (pothole repair, sign repair/replacement, storm clean up)
• City infrastructure maintenance
• Snow and ice removal
• Pest control
• Safety inspections
• Other tasks that may be assigned by the director of public works.

The ideal candidate will have experience in general landscaping and lawn care equipment and have experience in similar trades.

Starting salary $18.25 hourly with boost to $19 an hour after 90-day probationary period. Benefits include employer-paid medical and life insurance; two weeks of paid time off in the first year, 10 paid holidays and Kentucky State Retirement Pension.
