The City of Taylorsville with a City Commission form of government is seeking to retain a City Attorney to represent the City of Taylorsville its officers, agents, servants and employees, including any litigation or claims made against the City and in all matters of Municipal Government. The City Attorney serves as an independent contractor. The City services include water, sewer, drainage, police, and streets, Federal Loan & Grant projects as well as municipal personnel and financial matters. Experience in Ordinances, Resolutions, Municipal Orders, and Interlocal Government Agreements required. The City maintains a million-dollar General Fund and a ten-million-dollar water fund and has approximately 35 employees. The position requires attending two regularly scheduled evening meeting per month as well as Special Meeting as needed. The city attorney will also be available to attend unscheduled department meeting as needed and be available to respond to inquiries and questions from staff when necessary.
