Interim Meetings Begin June 1
May 27, 2026The Kentucky General Assembly’s interim meetings officially begin on June 1, kicking off the start of the 2026 legislative interim period that runs through December. During the interim, lawmakers meet in Interim Joint Committees to hear constituents, review legislation, and begin discussions that may shape bills for the 2027 Regular Session.
Interim meetings provide an important opportunity for city leaders and local officials to stay engaged with potential legislation and policy discussions impacting communities across the Commonwealth. Topics discussed during these meetings often become key legislative priorities during the upcoming legislative session.
All meetings are open to the public and available for viewing online through the Legislative Research Commission (LRC). A full schedule of meetings, including committee dates and agendas, can be found on the LRC website.
