Description: The NHPRC seeks projects that will significantly improve online public discovery and use of historical records collections. Projects centered on collections of America’s early legal records, such as the records of colonial, territorial, county, early statehood, and tribal proceedings that document the evolution of the nation’s legal history are encouraged. Projects should engage the public, expand civic education, and promote understanding of the nation’s history, democracy, and culture from the founding era to the present day. Cost-sharing is required as no more than 75% of total costs are to be covered by this opportunity.
Funded Activities - Projects involving: historical governmental records; historical manuscripts/personal documents/business archives; and historical photographs and media.
Funded projects should focus on: the collection, description, preservation, and publication of historical documents; implementing solutions for the preservation of electronic records; conducting education and training programs; and the dissemination of information.
