The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Jobs Plus Initiative offers grants to public housing authorities to operate job programs in qualifying public housing developments. Funding is intended to address poverty affecting public housing residents by removing barriers to employment and providing incentives, counseling, and more. Required registrations make take four weeks or longer to complete.
The Jobs Plus program develops locally based, job-driven approaches that increase earnings and advance employment outcomes through work readiness, employer linkages, job placement, educational advancement, technology skills, and financial literacy for residents of public housing.
