City of Glasgow is seeking applicants for: Chief of Police Under administrative and legislative direction of the Mayor, assures that the resources of the Police Department are so managed that its objectives, preservation of the peace, protection of life and property and enforcement of the laws are achieved economically and effectively.

Responsible for preparation of the Police Department budget and proper management of the budget to insure maximum effective service economically and for the benefit of the community. Responsible for planning, development and direction of the Police Department. Exercises internal control over police activities and personnel and uses wide discretion in the administration of the Police Department. Graduation from an accredited high school or its equivalent GED supplemented by ten (10) years in extensive, successful and progressively responsible experience in police work, including supervisory experience; Graduate of Kentucky Criminal Justice Training or its equivalent; Any equivalency combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities; Possess a valid driver’s license; Not been convicted of a felony; Pass a physical examination; Pass a pre-employment drug screen, Must be a United States citizen; etc.
