The Policy Development and Research team satisfies the needs of KLC and its membership, the legislative and executive branches of government, and the media by providing quality research and policy analysis in a complete and timely manner.

The department uses numerous resources to better serve cities, including research reports, survey results and several databases with information such as city classifications, revenues and expenditures. The Policy Development and Research staff also takes pride in maintaining a library with over 8,000 materials, most of which are available to members for checking out or downloading.

The Policy Development and Research team is knowledgeable about such issues as city classes, demographics and government structures, and regularly answers questions regarding legislation, revenue issues, research surveys and resources in the member’s library.
