Education Certificate Programs

KLC’s Leadership Training Center offers specialized professional credit programs for community leaders and employees. The education certificate programs were created to provide timely, valuable opportunities for continuing education.

The Public Officials Essential Skills Institute (POESI)
was established to equip city officials with nut and bolts training toward improved government while recognizing their efforts to become effective leaders. Classes are designed to equip city officials with nuts and bolts information.

The Community Safety and Health Certificate Program recognizes the training and experience of the public safety workforce on safety, liability and environmental issues confronting local governments.

Both certificate programs are at no cost to members and are voluntary continuing education programs.

Recognition among peers
Recognition of achievement is presented to participants at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels for both programs at the KLC Annual Convention (POESI) and the Annual Kentucky Municipal Environmental Health and Safety Association Conference (Community Safety and Health).   In addition, all participants are featured in statewide and localized media releases and coverage during public recognition events.
