This session will focus on how the end of the employment relationship either through disciplinary problems and termination or retirement. A KRS Representative will present on pension spiking and the administrative side of retirement. Topics will include:

9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Managing a Rule Breaker
10:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Break
10:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Discipline Issues & Documentation
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Lunch
1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Terminating an Employee
2:30 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. Break
2:45 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Retirement Process & Spiking
4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Succession Planning

Who should attend? Elected officials, human resource directors, anyone with management or personnel oversight responsibilities such as hiring and firing.
Credit: 7 hours of City Officials Training Center credit and/or Training Incentive Program (House Bill 119) credit.
Registration: $69 KLC members, $99 nonmembers. Prices includes lunch.
KLC Cancellation Policy
Full refunds will be issued on cancellations made three days prior to the KLC training event in writing by email or fax. To keep training costs affordable to all of our members, no refunds can be given after this deadline because of meal and material considerations. Credit card payments will be refunded to the card that made the charge for cancellations made within the time frame. Attendees may also choose to send another representative from his or her city to use the registration.
