The City of St. Charles, Missouri, a thriving St. Louis suburb with approximately 68,000 residents, is seeking their next Director of Human Resources. St. Charles is home to a number of corporate employers but maintains a friendly, small town environment. The community also takes pride in their historic downtown which attracts 1.5 million visitors each year. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the City’s classification and compensation system, employee benefits, labor relations, recruitment and selection, risk management, safety programs, training and development, payroll and developing and managing a comprehensive human resources program for approximately 900 full, part-time and seasonal employees that serve the City of St. Charles community. The Human Resources Director reports to the City Administrator/Director of Administration. The position is an “at-will” position and is appointed by the Mayor. Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field along with at least seven (7) years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience in a generalist role, including a minimum of two (2) years labor relation experience. A Master’s Degree and certification as a professional in Human Resources or Senior Professional in Human Resources is preferred.
