The City of Shelbyville’s Public Works Department is accepting applications for a Maintenance Technician II.

General Duties: This position is supervised by the Superintendent of Public Works, and will be responsible for a variety of skilled and unskilled maintenance duties including, but not limited to: construction; cleaning, and/or maintaining buildings, roadways, storm sewers, road signs, etc.; removing snow and ice; operating and cleaning equipment assigned to the department; cutting or trimming trees, limbs, weeds, brush, and grass; and collecting trash. Flexibility to work during emergency weather conditions and other special events is a must.

Qualifications: A high school diploma or General Educational Development certificate (GED), supplemented by one year of related work experience.

Additional Training Requirements: The ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky within six months to one year from date of hire.

Salary Information: $18.30 - $21.88/hour, based on experience. Excellent benefit package.
